Monash University is leader in setting radical energy targets, and recently it initiated the Monash Net Zero Initiative with the aim to transitioning its Australian campuses to net zero emissions by 2030. As part of this, they are implementing a microgrid at the Clayton Campus, which involves 20 connected buildings, embedded generation with 1.5 MW onsite solar and inverters, thermal hubs (all electric), 2 EV charging stations, 1MW on-site electricity storage, a power purchasing agreement (PPA) for supply of electricity to multiple third parties.
