Solo deploys and operates distributed energy storage systems including home batteries and electric vehicle chargers to store excess energy generated by renewable sources. A software,
called FlexiGrid, was developed that would allow for the management of flexibility on the residential side so the energy storage systems can operate as a virtual power plant. Solo applied a blockchain technology to create a peer-to-peer energy trading platform that enabled customers to share locally generated renewable energy.
